Read: Thief of Time, by Terry Pratchett
After a quite long Pratchett deprivation I continued my voyage on the Discworld with 'Thief of Time'. It was the right one to get addicted again. It has all what makes the Discworld so rich -- mysterious characters, naive characters, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. And above all The Language and The Humour.
The book is not very outstanding in the series. There is much about the Auditors, some ancient group of, well, Auditors, whose role in the universe is not really clear, but they love to live an orderly existence, and therefore they want to stop the introduction of more disorder into the world, no more thermodynamics, no more entropy. Well, I think you get the idea.
Fortunately there are good ol' friends in the book as well, DEATH along
with his kind of family DEATH OF RATS and Susan Sto Helit. She's really
grown up now. And there are some ambitious young people who fight together
to stop the cold, really together.
The story is a happy one and in the end we, The Readers, are entitled to
spoil the world with disorder some more.
